Takeda to Acquire Shire in $62B Deal

Represents largest takeover by a Japanese company

Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd. has entered an agreement to acquire Shire plc in a transaction valued at $62 billion. The transaction has been approved by both companies’ boards of directors and is expected to close in 1H19.
